Sponsored Herriot Walk – Completed!

Scene along the Herriot walk

Today I completed a sponsored walk in aid of the Herriot Hospice Homecare charity! They aim to turn the former Lambert Hospital inThirsk into a community hub for those living with terminal illness and bereavement. Dr Rosie Page, the daughter of ‘James Herriot’ (Alf Wight) and her brother Jim joined us all. The weather was perfect and a good day was had albeit some tired legs at the end of it! Here are some pictures from the day and there is still time to support if you haven’t done so already on the following link…

Our start point at Aysgarth Falls
We passed several barns like this one.
Following the path of the disused railway towards Hawes
Passing the River Ure
Askriggs ‘Skeldale House’ – we stopped for refreshment nearby
This calf came out to say hello
The Autumn sun played across the fells as we plodded past
I decided that I’d like to live here…
Nearly home – following a flagged pathway down to Hawes and a welcome cup of tea!

Thank you for following our walk – I hope you felt part of it!
