This weekend I am in Herriot’s Yorkshire Dales again. Last year I described a walk around Semerwater that is mentioned in the book ‘James Herriot’s Yorkshire. Alf also mentions the more elusive Birkdale Tarn in the same book. So where is it? What is it like? Is it worth a visit?
